Synopsis/Resume/Descripción : My artistic intention with this piece was to convey the nostalgia that comes with the passing of time. This was depicted through the use of MIDI sampling techniques which mimic the ticking sound of a clock. As the piece progresses, this ticking can be heard to be layered, creating a sense of momentum as ‘time’ progresses. Panning effects were also used on this ticking sound to create a notion of the piece surrounding the listener, in almost a circular motion like how time can be perceived. I placed this sound at the start and end to create structure in the piece which can be heard to end with the ticking sound and the sound of a crash, reversed to indicate what could be, the sudden feeling of one’s time stopping. I also incorporated sounds which reminded me of nature such as thunder and rain to play in the background. This adds to the ambient feel of the piece and also, symbolises how time passes with nature. The melody and synthesised sounds were produced also through MIDI sampling and were incorporated to encapsulate the feelings of nostalgia associated with the passing of time. Through this technique, I looped the synthesiser which can be heard at the start to create a subtle beat to depict the forward momentum of time.

Synopsis/Resume/Descripción : "La terre sans l'oiseau" est une création radiophonique abordant la question de l'environnement et méttant l'humain face à sa responsabilité dans la préservation non seulement de la terre, mais de sa propre espèce. Dans cet extrait, la terre se résoud a l'idée que l'humain qu'elle a aimé et à qui elle a tout donné, ne lui rend que du malheur. Dans sa négligence, l'humain (représenté ici par l'oiseau) à ainsi décidé de "s'envoler". Cette oeuvre radiophonique a été créée en collaboration avec le poète zoque Mikeas Sánchez, écrivain, producteur de radio et traducteur zoque de la variante haute du nord. Originaire de Tujsübajk, également connue sous le nom de Colonia Guadalupe Victoria, municipalité de Chapultenango, Chiapas (Mexique). Elle est diplômée en sciences de l'éducation de l'Universidad Juárez Autónoma de Tabasco (2003). Elle a été admise en 2005 au programme international de bourses d'études supérieures pour étudiants autochtones de la Fondation Ford, pour effectuer une spécialité en didactique de la langue et de la littérature à l'Université autonome de Barcelone. Elle a reçu le Prix d'État Pat O'tan pour la poésie autochtone (2004) et le premier Prix narratif Y el Bolóm dice… (2005). En 2014, elle a été nominée pour le prix Pushcart, une reconnaissance littéraire pour les meilleures publications aux États-Unis. Sa production poétique et narrative a été incluse dans des anthologies, des journaux, des magazines et des disques compacts au Mexique et à l'étranger. Une partie de son oeuvre a été traduite en catalan, italien, allemand, maya, portugais et anglais. Version Française. Es licenciada en Ciencias de la Educación por parte de la Universidad Juárez Autónoma de Tabasco (2003). Fue admitida en 2005 en el programa internacional de becas de posgrado para estudiantes indígenas de la Fundación Ford, para realizar una especialidad en Didáctica de la Lengua y la Literatura de la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. Ha sido galardonada con el Premio Estatal de Poesía Indígena Pat O´tan (2004) y primer Premio de Narrativa Y el Bolóm dice… (2005).
