Synopsis/Resume/Descripción : I once visited an agricultural region in
eastern Poland. I had been walking all day when I suddenly heard a
chorus of a large flock of domestic birds while passing through a village.
There was a farm with chickens, turkeys, ducks and other animals.
Perhaps hundreds of them! They made a stunning and amusing noise.
I was allowed to get as close to these birds as possible and record their
performance on my binaural device after asking a nice country
housewife.
This field recording was thrilling. However, it lacked dramaturgy and
appeared chaotic. I had a fantasy about those beaked creatures forming a
band under the direction of a rooster and producing beats. And this piece
titled “Beakbox” is all about this.
